In 2018 and 2019, there were serious environment crises in southern part of Burma/Myanmar, as a heavy flooding, land slide and destruction of agriculture lands due to heavy rain. The main cause of heavy and flooding was deforestation and mono-crop plantations in region and these have destroyed eco-system. After flooding, the villagers learned that there was a need of environmental preservation in their communities or surrounding areas. Mon State government officials have agreed that there is a need of environmental assessment in Mon State and environmental preservation.
The objectives of this research are:
- Research on global warming and its impacts, and educate to the communities.
- Consult to the communities on their knowledge for improvement of environment to support them with sustainable development.
- Provide recommendations and policies to EAO, the State Governments and State Parliaments, as inputs to their administration and implementation.
